I've Been Busy......Gestating.

Yes, you read that correctly. I have waited a little while to share some big news with you, Internet. We are having a baby. This little one's expected arrival is October 15.

Yesterday, was the start of week 11. I am feeling a little better, and a little bit more like posting here. It's amazing to me how much being pregnant truly sucks the life out of you. I am getting over my sloth like disposition, and in return, I will be sharing a lot more of the goings on here in this place. I am looking forward to that. I want to be sure this kid has all of the details of what mommy and daddy had to go through to prepare for him/her.

So, let's talk about gut reactions. You want to know what mine is?? I think this one is a boy. I haven't had any wacky dreams to solidify this thought, but something is telling me it's a boy. Those of you that know me, also know that I don't gamble, because I am horrible at this game. I could be way off. Actually, knowing me, it would be best to assume that what I think and what is true are actually opposites of each other. So therefore, it's a girl. For sure, it has to be.

In any case, we are thrilled and excited to bring this little one into the world. Being the planner that I am, I am already scoping out strollers, and car seats and nursery furniture. In fact, the nursery is already cleaned out. Something I told myself I would not do until the end of the 1st trimester. So much for that. The excitement of carrying this child is overwhelming. To know that one day very soon I will feel flutters in my tummy, that will eventually turn into painful rib jabs, and that I will have a somersaulting kid in there, is really quite miraculous. It sounds so cliche, but it really is just that. A miracle. And God has blessed us after wanting this for a very long time. And for that, we are thankful.

Just you wait Emily, the best is yet to come! You will start feeling flutters and jabs and you will come to cherish every single movement of your baby inside you and then the big ultrasound and the preparation of the nursery and showers and oh Em, it is so much fun.

Enjoy this time! It doesn't seem like it now, but time is going to FLY! And the first trimester is a distance memory.

For you - my dibs are on boy. :-) But either or will be wonderful.
