Weigh In Day

Ugh. Well, the last 2 weeks have not been the best for my diet. I am having a hard time finding time to make good, healthy dinners. Even with my good intentions and planning during the week, we still end up eating an easy meal, or ordering out. I also need to get my butt in gear at the gym or at home. I am officially up 2 pounds from when we started 3 weeks ago. I know this is a bump in the road, and I just need to re-dedicate myself to this plan. So, I am doing that today. I already have our meals planned out for this weekend, and I am hoping to get at least 2 trips in at the gym this week.

Those of you with kids, or very busy schedules, what are your tips on finding time for exercise?
This seems to be my biggest hang up at this point. That, and I cannot wait for the weather to get nicer, so that I can take Charlie for a walk or two :o)

I've been struggling a lot too. Don't beat yourself up too much about not finding time to exercise. It is VERY hard to find the time; and when you do find time, you want to do something else! :) Now that Maya sleeps 10-12 hours a night, you'd think I'd be able to make the time for it. Nope!! Good luck. You seem very determined.

Em - you are doing great! Getting a plan together is a great step. I find that the less temptation I have and the more I plan meals ahead of time, the better I do (makes sense, right?? lol).

I exercise RIGHT after Evie goes to bed, around 7:30 pm. That gives me time to shower and wind down before going to bed around 9/9:30. My other option is doing it on my lunch hour (I'm close enough to home) and at this point I just do the WiiFit for 1/2 hour 5-6 times a week.

Sorry you hit a bump. :( Good for you for maintaining your resolve. You CAN do this!!! Want to meet to walk at the mall? Nate would be happy to go for a spin and I'm sure Charlie would like the change of pace... Maybe Sat? PM me!

I'm still struggling with this. But Saturday mornings work best for me. Brock wakes up early, so I nurse, then put him in bed with DH until I get back. He's usually asleep the whole time I'm gone! Sometimes I try to go after dinner during the week (only ends up being once or twice). Its too hard during the week. Can you do home videos or anything at home after Charlie goes down for the night?

I'm right with you, Em. I was kicking butt with my new healthy living plan-- then this week happened. Grr. I'm making myself take time for ME. And, I blew it this week, but I'm promising myself not to give up.

I've been sneaking in a 1/2 hour on the elliptical either in the AM or around 7ish.

Ok a couple thoughts. . . if you ever want help we some meal prep, just ask. I'd be more then happy to help.

Also, do you know what my degree at State was? Dietetics! Feel free to bounce any questions or anything off me.

But just remember it takes time.

I totally feel you, i have been a major slacker, i lost all the pg weight and have now gained 10 of it back! I bought the Jillian Michaels 30 day shred dvd at Amazon. It has 3 20 minute INTENSE workouts and is so far kicking my butt. I can't exercise in front of people (especially DH), so i do it when first thing in the morning while everyone is asleep!

Now, I don't have a little one like you but this is what has worked for me healthy living wise. I've become "one with my crockpot". It's simple, easy, and when I get home, I'm done. Excercise wise, I'm hitting the gym at 5:30 am now. Which works for me but I don't have a kiddo. If you have the right equipment at home, you can get a killer workout. You just need a ball and few freeweights. I also loved the Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds series. You just need a small space and 10-15 minutes. Charlie can be close when you are doing the tapes. Just an idea. Don't beat yourself up though. You're doing something about it!
